Our Story

After some botched attempts at online dating, Caroline received a virtual click of approval and a kissyface emoji from Brian. They engaged in numerous messages full of witty banter and emojis and decided to meet at the Friendly Toast in Cambridge on December 10, 2017.

What you may not know is that Caroline almost chickened out, but as luck would have it, she attended a concert with Cari Babitzke, that salty Texan for those of you not in the know, and Cari encouraged her to give it a try.

This support shows how crucial friends are as you embark on the journey of finding a special person and why we are asking you for your support in our campaign.

When they first met at at The Friendly Toast, Caroline was taken by Brian’s handsomeness, charm, sense of humor, and pride in his sons. Brian was equally charmed by Caroline’s intelligence, poise and willingness to play silly games. For no good reason, they agreed to choose a menu item starting with G. She told funny stories, he laughed, and vice versa. Even though they finished their brunch, they strolled around Cambridge — in winter! — to extend the date and agreed to meet again.

Ensuing dates involved modern dance, bowling, art openings, and frequent car trips along the routes between Cambridge and Lowell. Throughout this time, Brian and Caroline began introducing each other to their respective family and friends. Approval was swift, but not taken for granted. Eventually, friend groups began to mingle at New Year’s Eve parties, the Lowell Folk Festival, and birthday parties.

Now that our worlds overlap, we are proud of our journey, and we would like to reaffirm our commitment to each other — and to you. For that reason, we are launching our campaign, known fondly as #ffff, in which we humbly ask for your vote that we last another term.
